NCE Workshop Format                          
The NCE workshop is offered in a 2-day format. It is on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 9am-4pm and Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 9am-4pm. This is a review course. Attendees are encouraged to spend additional time in study preparation outside of this workshop. This workshop is designed to help counselors approach the exam realistically and confidently by understanding the structure of the exam and the content it attempts to measure. Attendees will experience an overview of the test and test-taking strategies.

Presenter
This NCE workshop is conducted by Lynn Turovetz. Lynn’s Masters Degree is in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University.  She is a Past-President of ICA, a Past-President of  IMHCA, and the 2001 recipient of the IMHCA Distinguished Service as an Illinois Mental Health Counselor Award.  She is the 2002 recipient of the C.A. Michelman Award for outstanding service from the Illinois Counseling Association.

NCE Exam Format
The NCE is a computerized exam, comprised of 200 multiple choice questions. Topic areas include: Human Growth and Development, Social and Cultural Foundations, Helping Relationships, Group Work, Career and Lifestyle Development, Appraisal, Research and Program Evaluation, Professional Orientation, and Ethics.
